Narrow channel requires a "securite" call

Entering the narrow channel on Lake Balsam

Cruising a few feet from rocks in the narrows

Clear water reveals rocks along the sides of the channel

 Beautiful, but narrow

Hole in the Wall Bridge constructed in 1905
One of the highlights of the day was the Kirkfield Lift Lock.  The lift structure is not enclosed like the Peterborough Lift Lock, so we had more of a feeling of "hanging out there".  We were suspended nearly 5 stories in the air.  Wow!  What a ride.
Sunset Cove is a small, family-run marina in a rural area.  Since there were no nearby restaurants we ate all meals on board both days.  On Saturday evening, the 2 of us made crock-pot pork chops with mashed potatoes and gravy for all 8 of us.  We ate on Bade Boomer which comfortably seats 8 at the dining room table in their salon.

Total miles:  22      Total bridges:  6       Total locks:  2
