Steve (Gemini), Roy Eaton, Bruce, Chris, and Jeff at the broadcast
After 2 days of anchoring everyone was ready for a marina. We checked in at the town docks at Little Current, did some laundry, grocery shopping, and got ready to anchor for a few more days. Of course, we had to eat at the Anchor Inn and shop at Turners.
We met Roy Eaton, the voice of the “Little Current Cruisers Net,” on the docks on Saturday and told him that we (Chris, Bruce, Jeff & Jim) would help out with the broadcast on Sunday morning. For the last 8 years Roy has generously donated his time to broadcast during the month of July and August on VHF channel 71 at 9:00 AM, news of the world, sports, business, health, local history and knowledge, weather, and upcoming local events. Additionally anyone with in radio range can call in and share their current location or itinerary.
On Sunday evening Linda made 4 pizzas for all of us for dinner. It was made-from-scratch dough and lots of toppings including bleu cheese and artichokes. Fantastic!
