Leaving Baie Fine
Baie Fine is known as “the holy grail of boating”, and it lives up to its reputation. It’s the closest thing to a fjord that we have ever cruised. We boated the entire 10 miles of the bay to the Pool at the end. We found a quiet spot to anchor by ourselves with a line tied to a tree on shore. The 2 of us, along with Chris and Bruce, hiked up a rocky trail to Topaz Lake. The water is crystal clear, but the lake is dead we were told due to acid rain.
Bruce and Chris headed back to their boat. Jim went swimming while we waited for Carlton, Jeff, and Linda to arrive. They took a wrong turn on the trail, and Carlton finally went back to the boat. Linda, Jeff, Molly and Snickers kept hiking and eventually arrived at the lake. It was well worth the effort. What a magical place!
Back at the boats we had appetizers for dinner on Jeremiah and Seamoore.
Total miles: 28 Total bridges: 0 Total locks: 0
