Day 140 Snook Bight Marina,
Fort Myers Beach, FL
Wednesday, January 12, 2011
Our planned departure date from Snook Bight – but the waves on the gulf were 4 to 6 feet, so we passed on that experience and stayed for another day. Again we cleaned, shopped, and organized. We had chili dinner onboard on this “cold” winter night. :) :) :)

Day 139 Snook Bight Marina,
Fort Myers Beach, FL
Tuesday, January 11, 2011
Another beautiful 70-something day with sunny skies - and another major work day on the boat to get ready to leave Snook Bight after spending a month here. We cleaned, shopped, did laundry, checked the engines, and studied the charts.

About 5:00 Tom picked us up (again!!) and we went to their condo for a delicious taco dinner. Tom and Diann have been more than generous with their time and knowledge about the loop. Their advice has been invaluable, and we truly appreciate all of their help.

Day 138 Snook Bight Marina,
Fort Myers Beach, FL
A day to start getting ready for our planned departure from Snook Bight on Wednesday. We did a lot of paperwork and had some things to mail, so we caught the trolley to the post office. From the post office we walked to the bank and then to Junkanoos for our last stop at our favorite place to enjoy a cocktail on the beach. We stopped at Publix on our way back to the boat and had a quiet dinner onboard.

Where is the best place to spend Sunday afternoon in Southwest Florida? Stan's Idle Hour bar in Goodland, of course! It’s the happening place with music, dancing, stand-up comedy, food, and drinks. Tom and Diann picked us up (again!) for the 1-1/2 hour drive from Fort Myers Beach to Goodland. We reserved a large table, and we were soon joined by Suzanne, Jim, Susie, and Don as well as Vic and Kathy Quinn and their daughter Emma. Dan and Jan Parker and Jan’s 2 sisters also stopped by. The weather was again sunny and beautiful, and it was a great afternoon.
Before heading back to Fort Myers Beach we stopped at Diane and Bob Corwell’s condo at Summit House in Marco where Humphreys and Banks are staying for a few days. The condo is beautiful, and its 23rd floor penthouse location offers breath-taking panoramic views of the gulf.
We enjoyed a delicious Italian dinner at Grinols Olde Marco Trattoria – and the owner is originally from Iowa!
