It was a beautiful, sunny day with temps in the high 70's, so we launched the dingy and took our first ride in Estero Bay. It took about an hour to reach Doc Ford’s Rum Bar and Grille where we stopped for lunch. We were seated at an outside table next to the dock where we tied our dingy. We enjoyed Yucatan shrimp - some of the best peel-and-eat shrimp we’ve ever had. Doc Ford’s is owned by Randy Wayne White, a best-selling author, who graduated from Central High School in Davenport, Iowa. Talk about a small world.
About 4:00 Tom and Diann picked us up to go to dinner at Suzanne/Jim/Susie/Don’s condo in Fort Myers. But first they took us TV shopping. We’ve needed a new TV in our state room since the switch to digital broadcasting. So we set out for the store, got caught in very heavy traffic, briefly got lost, drove past the store, and finally arrived about 6:00. Whew! But we did get the TV!
We finally got to the condo and had a WONDERFUL prime rib stew with made-from-scratch biscuits. (That’s Susie!) It was a fun evening with lots of laughs, and it was great to get together with everyone.
