We spent the morning washing the boat and doing laundry, but in the early afternoon we took a taxi to the Lightner Museum which is located across the street from Flagler College.  The museum was originally built by Flagler as the Alcazar Hotel.  It featured an indoor swimming pool, an exercise room, saunas, and other facilities for use by the guests of the Ponce de Leon Hotel.  The museum now features eclectic collections of antique furniture, mechanical musical instruments, and many stained glass works by Louis Tiffany. 

After exploring the museum, we again walked down historic St. George Street.  We stopped at a wine tasting at The Gifted Cork and then ate supper at Scarlett O’Hara’s.  After supper we went back to The Gifted Cork and bought some wine.    The shop owner was gracious enough to give us a ride back to the marina!  Now that’s service!

 Decorative towers are actually water towers that hold 16,000 gallons. 

The water is pumped from 7 miles south of town due to sulfur in the local water.

We walked a little over a mile into town to tour Flagler College and discovered that the tour started at 1:30.  That gave us time to walk down St. George Street in the colonial quarter and grab a quick lunch at a restaurant called Rendezvous. 

Flagler College was originally built in 1888 by Harry Flagler as the Ponce de Leon Hotel.  It was an invitation-only winter retreat for the wealthy.   It has been beautifully restored and boasts the largest collection of original Tiffany glass in the United States.  It also features sculptures, mosaics, and fountains.  The cost to attend the 4-year, highly-rated college is $21,000 per year which includes room, board, and tuition. 

After the tour we walked back down St. George Street and found a great restaurant called Rhett’s which is right next to Scarlett O'Hara's.  The cheese and meat tray appetizer was delicious!  We walked back to the marina and had dinner at Hurricane Patty’s with Linda, Rich, Becky, and Carlton.
