Midway Marina

 Reflections at Midway Marina

Honest boaters at Midway.   If you want ice, just take it and put your money under the rock on top of the freezer.

Autumn in Mississippi

The good news:  we called a generator repair specialist and he arrived in 15 minutes.  The bad news:  we need a new fuel pump.  He ordered it for next day delivery, so we should be fixed by tomorrow.
More bad news:  the next lock will be closed for repairs from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm tomorrow.  That means that even if the generator is repaired early in the morning, we will probably not be able to travel tomorrow since it gets dark so early now.

Morning mist at Bay Springs Marina

 "Lady Royal" in Whitten Lock

The only lock that we have seen with metal doors bolted in the chamber.

Metal doors are bolted on the chamber walls of Whitten Lock.

Glass on the Tenn-Tom

Today was the first time that we have ever boated later than November 6th, and we were wearing shorts!  It was great!
We left Bay Springs at 9:00 with “Lady Royal”.  Our first lock was Whitten which lowered us 85 feet, followed by Montgomery and Rankin, each 30 feet.
While trying to fix lunch along the way, we realized that our generator was not working.  Bummer.  We won’t be able to anchor out until we get it fixed.
We arrived at Midway Marina about 1:00.  We fueled up, pumped out, and caught up on our blog.  This marina was purchased several years ago by a couple who cruised by and liked it so much that they sold their boat and bought the place.
About 4:00 four additional boats arrived including our friends Pat and Dick Danly on “Gypsea”.  We enjoyed happy hour with them on “Dream Catcher”.  It was great to see them again.
